Dance Conservatory (FDC) is the first premier, pre-professional
dance school in Oconee County whose exceptional ballet, jazz and
contemporary training is recognized throughout the professional
dance community as being one of the best training facilities in
South Carolina. Whether students attend "just for the fun" or for
a possible future dance career, all deserve correct training. The
Studio was founded with a most ambitious objective in mind... to
offer time-honored traditional dance instruction in a variety of
subjects in a nurturing environment with teaching excellence normally
found in big cities. Our professional teaching staff carry with
them the professionalism that they learned training with some of
the best national and international teachers in the world. Students
travel from great distances to Seneca to take advantage of the opportunities
offered at FDC.
We offer spacious state-of-the-art studios with high ceilings. The
main space has an injury-preventative wood sprung floor with a slip-resistant
Marley overlay. FDC offers an exceptional building and correct training
for all our students. A parent observation room allows parents to
observe class instruction.
Comprehensive instruction is available in disciplines including
classical ballet, modern dance, jazz and tap as well as adult classes
in tap, jazz, ballet and swing dance. During the summer the Conservatory
hosts a summer arts camp in June and a summer dance intensive in
July with master artists. Students from the Conservatory have gone
on to train and/or perform with many other prestigious dance institutions,
such as The Joffrey Ballet, Houston Ballet, Austin Ballet, North
Carolina School for the Arts, South Carolina Governor's School for
the Arts, and American Ballet Theatre.
